Steve Henry to Be Inducted into Missouri Valley Hall of Fame

Steve Henry’s lasting contributions to tennis will be honored this December when he is posthumously inducted into the USTA Missouri Valley Hall of Fame.
Henry, a longtime Oklahoma tennis player, administrator and volunteer, was selected as the lone member of the 2026 Hall of Fame class. He will become the 151st member of the USTA Missouri Valley Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony on Dec. 5 at the Olathe Conference Center in Olathe, Kansas.
After retiring from General Motors in 2006, Henry devoted his second career to tennis. He managed Earlywine Tennis Center before becoming facility director of the Oklahoma City Tennis Center in 2009. During his tenure, he helped oversee significant improvements to the facility and directed more than 100 tournaments, ranging from junior and adult competitions to professional events.
Henry also made a tremendous impact through his volunteer service. He joined the USTA Oklahoma Board of Directors in 2008 and eventually served as president of both USTA Oklahoma and USTA Missouri Valley. He also served on several USTA national committees, supporting tennis at the junior, adult and competitive levels.
A passionate competitor as well as a leader, Henry played USTA leagues for more than three decades and competed in several national championships. Some of his most memorable tennis experiences came playing alongside his daughter, Jordan, in father-daughter national championships.
Henry passed away on March 21, 2023, at age 62. His induction into the Missouri Valley Tennis Hall of Fame recognizes a lifetime of dedication to the sport and the many players, families and tennis communities he touched throughout his career. He was previously inducted into the Oklahoma Tennis Hall of Fame as a member of its Class of 2025.
