USTA Oklahoma is excited to announce the addition of three outstanding individuals to the Oklahoma Tennis Hall of Fame. The 2024 inductees include Brook Buck, Melissa McCorkle and Trent Tucker. Each inductee has had a lasting impact on tennis in Oklahoma through their exceptional talent, dedication, and vision.
Brook Buck
As one of the most accomplished junior players in Oklahoma's history, Brook Buck ranked No. 1 in USTA Girls 16 and Girls 18 for three consecutive years and held the top spot nationally in both Girls 16 singles and doubles in 2002. She went on to win four consecutive state titles at No. 1 singles, and her success continued at the University of Notre Dame, where she became one of the most distinguished players in the school's history. Brook reached a career-high NCAA doubles ranking of No. 1 and was named an NCAA Division I All-American in 2008. Now residing in Columbia, Missouri, with her husband Jack Campbell, Brook continues to inspire the next generation of tennis players.
Melissa McCorkle
A true trailblazer in Oklahoma tennis, Melissa McCorkle has been instrumental in growing the game, especially in the Tulsa metro area. As the Director of Tennis at LaFortune Park Tennis Center for over 21 years, Melissa and her team have built LaFortune into a hub for tennis, home to more USTA Leagues than any other city in the USTA Missouri Valley. Known for her commitment to diversity and inclusion, she has championed programs for special needs groups and underprivileged youth, partnering with organizations like National Junior Tennis & Learning to bring tennis to all. Melissa’s leadership has made LaFortune Park a vital part of Tulsa’s tennis landscape.
Trent Tucker
A powerhouse in both junior and collegiate tennis, Trent Tucker has been a dominant force since his youth, ranking No. 1 in Oklahoma from Boys 14s through Boys 18s. He competed in the prestigious USTA Level 1 National Championship in Kalamazoo and went on to an outstanding college career at the University of Kansas, finishing with a 114-40 singles record. After college, Trent earned ATP rankings in both singles and doubles, and in 2001, he founded Tucker Tennis Academy (TTA). His vision was to produce top junior players, and the academy has more than delivered, producing over 200 USTA Missouri Valley champions and numerous national titleholders. TTA remains one of the premier training centers in the country.
