We recently had the pleasure of reconnecting with Brook Buck Campbell, a standout USTA National player and 2024 Oklahoma Hall of Fame Inductee from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her exceptional achievements on the junior circuit opened the door to a successful collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame, where she earned All-American honors and left a lasting mark on the program.

Where do you live now?  Columbia, Missouri

Where did you live when you competed at the Rally in the Valley?  Oklahoma City

What is your favorite thing about the sport?  I love a lot of things about tennis, but my top three are that (1) it's always a good workout no matter your age or level, (2) it challenges you more mentally than physically, and (3) it is extremely humbling! My favorite thing I've heard recently from Roger Federer was in his commencement speech at Dartmouth - He won 54% of the points he played in the 1,526 matches he played in his career.

Favorite Rally in the Valley (Sweet 16) tennis memory? There are so many good memories! I'd say that's where some of the best memories I have with Kelcy (Tefft) Flores where we knew our little doubles duo was something special!

Tell us about your experiences with the Rally in the Valley (Sweet 16) and what made it stand out from other tournaments?  I always looked forward to going to the Plaza in Kansas City. It was fun for me and honestly my whole family!

Did you go on to play college tennis? Yes, at Notre Dame.

What were some of your stand-out accomplishments in tennis?  NCAA Division I All-American Women’s Tennis 2008, National Indoor Doubles Champion 2007, Intercollegiate Tennis Association All Star Team 2008 , Byron V. Kanaley Award & Francis Patrick O’Connor Award University of Notre Dame 2008 , Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Play of the Year 2007 - 2008 , Intercollegiate Tennis Association Sportsmanship Award 2007-2008 , Big East Champion: 2008, 2006, 2005

What are you doing now? My husband and I live in Columbia, Missouri near some of our family and great friends. I work for GeoWealth, a financial services firm based in Chicago. We are thrilled to be expecting our first baby any day now, and have one fur baby!

Last, do you have any advice for the junior players today? Tennis isn't the most important thing and it never should be, but it can certainly change your life for the better. Always be grateful for the beautiful game that it is and for the incredible opportunities it gives you.
